IPv6 Global Community

NTT Laboratories started operations for the extensive IPv6 Research network in 1996, and then NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) has been making efforts toward realizing global IPv6 commercial service from 2001. For this extensive global project NTT Com has been collaborating with NTT group affiliates such as HKNet (Hong Kong), NTT Australia (Australia), NTT Europe (Europe), NTT MCL (North America), and NTT MSC (Malaysia), Verio (North America), etc.

In Japan, from 1999 NTT Com in cooperation with approximately 200 partners implemented nationwide IPv6 Tunneling Test for OCN (which is NTT Com's Internet Connectivity Service) for one and a half years. The operation know-how and informative response obtained through the test could result in realizing commercial IPv6 service that would lead the world.
